May 19, 2009 - Primary Election Day.

I'm Les Ford and I'm running for the Democratic nomination for Mayor of Harrisburg because I believe that this city can be better. I want to work with you to reform our city to ensure that our children are getting a good education, our neighborhoods are safe, and our streets are clean. And now, more than ever, we must restore trust and integrity to our city government.

I've made Harrisburg my home for the last 15 years. My family and I share the same concerns that yours do - concerns about the quality of our school system and how it affects our children's futures, and about the rising crime and our children's safety. The wasteful spending of public dollars, from the notorious western artifacts to the ongoing incinerator crisis, renews the calls for accountability from our government. It's time for a change. Together we can build a better Harrisburg, where economic development and jobs are plentiful, and where neighborhoods are clean and safe.

I have a vision for a better Harrisburg. Now is the time to put this city on the right track. I am asking for your support so that we can change this city. Let's make Harrisburg great again...together.
